THE KANSAS CITY BARBEQUE SOCIETY (KCBS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying barbeque, is the world's largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 8,000 members worldwide.KCBS sanctions almost 300 barbeque contests coast-to-coast throughout America. From volunteering to actual event production, our members also offer assistance to civic and charitable organizations who organize events.

The American Royal Association, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation and Kansas City's longest running show, has been a Kansas City tradition since 1899. During September, October and November,  The American Royal Barbecue has continued to grow and is now nationally known as the largest Barbecue Contest in the world with over 70,000 people in attendance.

 

Memphis in May's World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is in Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis. Hundreds of teams compete for over $90,000 in prizes and supreme bragging rights. Teams adorn their areas with elaborate decoration, trophies attesting to their boasting rights, and as one can imagine, clever and creative team names. While grilling is the main theme, the contest wouldn't be complete without the Ms. Piggie competition where grown men dress in tutus and snouts and women kick their heels (hooves) up. There is also a t-shirt competition and even a best booth contest. The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, the Granddaddy of Grilling...where on this given Saturday, it's anybody's game.

The Good-One ™ Smoker/Grill was founded in 1988.  This endeavor evolved from the dreams and creative thinking of passionate, persistent, and prepared father and son entrepreneurs in Burns, Kansas.  Both Ron and Larry Goodwin have been involved in developing, manufacturing, distributing, marketing, selling, and servicing products for the outdoor cookers for over 20 years now.  Over the years, they conceived new brilliant ideas to make their product simpler, easier to use, and resulting in a superior product.  In March of 2007, Ace of Hearts BBQ Specialties purchased The Good-One ™ product line and partnered with Goodwin Industries, the manufacturer of The Good-One ™ to expand the brand nationally.
